Long hair – I don’t care. Well, if we take these words literally, it won’t work. Long hair – needs a lot of care. Because who doesn’t want to have healthy, shining hair? I do and therefore I will tell you my hair care routine for long and healthy hair.
How I start my hair care routine
I wash my hair every second day and I want my shampoo to be two things: gentle to the scalp and moisturizing to the hair. My hair needs a lot of moisture and I have the feeling that my hair and scalp gets easily used to one product. So I usually switch between two different shampoos to prevent that. Currently I use mostly Maria Nila Head & Hair Heal Shampoo and switch sometimes to Kérastase Nutritive Magistral Shampoo for a little nutritive boost.
After washing and rinsing my hair properly I apply a small amount of conditioner to my lengths. Here I stick to the same product for quite a bit. Right now I use the Maria Nila Luminous Colour Conditioner fitting to the main shampoo I use.
Once a week I spoil my hair with an intensive treatment like a hair mask to strengthen and deep nourish my hair. Here my favorite is the Kérastase Nutritive Magistral Masque right now.
Products to protect
After washing, I twirl my hair into a towel and wait until it’s towel dry before I apply a heat protection. I currently use Bodyguard Heat Protect and Pick Me Up Root Lift both by GHD. Usually I dry my hair with my Dyson Airwrap. It was definitely one of the best investments I did. Well, it takes a bit of an exercise, but once you know how to use it, you will love it. It gives you endless possibilities for a good blow out. It’s easy and fast and you’ll have the perfect shiny hair you only can wish for. I love it and would never ever want to miss it anymore.
Last but not least, a good hair brush is essential for healthy hair. It’s also always the last step in my hair care routine. I brush my hair 3 to 4 times a day. A while ago I invested in a hair brush from Ghd and I’m happy. The brush goes smooth through my hair even when it’s knotted and avoids breaking the ends.
